AS THEY CONTINUE A VERY SPECIAL RENOVATION THE COUNT AND COUNTESS LEPIC SHOW US AROUND THEIR BEAUTIFUL AND HISTORIC CHATEAU IN NORMANDY
‘We’re a working couple renovating their family home. Big, yes; historic, yes; but a family home’
Jean-Ghislain and Eléonore, Count and Countess Lepic, couldn’t ask for a home with a more distinguished history. Set in the verdant landscape of Normandy, the spectacular Château de Louÿe dates back to 1180, when Richard the Lionheart built a fortress there to defend the lands he held in France.
The Lepic dynasty also has an illustrious story. By the time Jean-Ghislain’s ancestor Charles Edouard de Viel-Castel acquired Louÿe in 1882, other relatives of his, the Dukes of Bassano, had been giving loyal service to France’s Napoleonic emperors for the best part of a century.
WORKING PROPOSITION
But despite all that, Jean-Ghislain and Eléonore don’t consider themselves to be classic chateau owners. Rather, they are, she says: “A working…
ALL THE GLAMOUR, GOSSIP AND GOWNS THE ACADEMY AWARDS OSCARS STARS EMBRACE FUTURISTIC LOOKS—AND GOLDEN AGE CLASSICS
It’s always Hollywood’s most fashionable night, but this year’s Academy Awards proved to be one of the most trend-setting yet.
For the grand finale of awards season, Los Angeles’s Dolby Theatre became a catwalk, on which stars including Oppenheimer’s Emily Blunt and Florence Pugh experimented with futuristic new looks.
“The styling was much more daring,” says Natalie Salmon, editor of HELLO! Fashion.
“It’s amazing to see that Oscar winners and A-list actresses are willing to take more risks with their outfits than ever before; Emily wearing the Y-front Schiaparelli couture dress was a perfect example of this.”
The unusual hovering shoulder straps on the Best Supporting Actress nominee’s gown also provided a talking point. Stylist Jessica Paster, who has worked with Emily for many years, said they had set out to push boundaries.
‘There were…
AFTER THE CEREMONY, HOLLYWOOD’S FINEST PARTY THE NIGHT AWAY
‘The food is always delicious, people’s glasses are full, live entertainment and it’s a great night out’David Furnish
The stars continued to favour futuristic fashion at Vanity Fair’s ritzy Oscars afterparty in Beverly Hills.
Making a strong case for monochromatic dressing, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley dazzled in a black cut-out gown, amping up her look with a sweeping train and matching leather gloves.
HELLO! Fashion editor Natalie Salmon said: “Rosie’s afterparty dress was a perfect example of this really modern, fresh approach to dressing for the red carpet. She looked like a sci-fi villain, but in the best possible way.”
Adding extra sparkle was Barbie’s Margot Robbie, who had the Midas touch in a bejewelled 1996 Mugler corset bodysuit, while Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney channelled Marilyn Monroe in a creamy silk Marc Bouwer gown identical to…
‘POOR THINGS’ MAKE-UP ARTIST NADIA STACEY ON WINNING AN OSCAR AND PARTYING WITH THE STARS
I woke up at 3am on the morning of the ceremony and my sleep was pretty sketchy after that – it was like Christmas Day, but with a mix of fear as well as excitement.
I was staying at the Sunset Marquis and my oldest friend, Helenka, had flown out to be with me, as had three of my team – Ellen, Claire and Grayson. We were a real girl gang.
We ordered breakfast and mimosas and got ready together, helping with each other’s hair and make-up.
At 12pm, we piled into the car sent to take us to the Dolby Theatre, where we were the second car to arrive at the red carpet. We looked like right eager beavers! Some of the girls hadn’t even been to LA before and their energy…
LENNY KRAVITZ ROCKS HIS WAY ONTO WALK OF FAME
The stars were certainly not confined to the pavement as Lenny Kravitz became the latest name to be immortalised on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, in a ceremony that saw him joined by Oscar winner Denzel Washington (below) and actor Channing Tatum. The singer shared photos from the event on Instagram, calling it an “incredible honor”. He told fans in his post: “What a day.”
Helping Lenny, 59, celebrate was his actor/film-maker daughter Zoë, who gave a speech ahead of the unveiling outside the Capitol Records Building. “Being your daughter has been one of the great adventures of my life,” she told him. “Your radness doesn’t come from your shades or your leather pants or your knitted shirts. It comes from your true love for life.”
Sharing the special moment was Zoë’s fiancé,…
AMY DOWDEN IN THE BLOOM OF HEALTH IN MOROCCO
A month after sharing the news that her treatment for breast cancer had been successful, with “no evidence” of the deadly disease, life was looking a lot more rosy for Amy Dowden. The Strictly Come Dancing star travelled to Marrakech with her twin sister Rebecca and a “surprise” travel companion, fellow dancer Carlos Gu (together right).
Amy, who shared the tricky steps of her journey back to health with fans and followers on social media, posted photos showing off her newly bleached hair (left) as she relaxed at the flower-strewn La Sultana hotel. “Stop and smell the roses,” she wrote, adding that she was “having such a lovely time”.
The trio enjoyed some sumptuous food, spectacular sunsets and spa treatments, with Carlos writing on Instagram: “Marrakesh has put a spring in my…
NAOMI CAMPBELL V&A SHOW IS A TRIP THROUGH HER ICONIC MOMENTS IN FASHION
Her groundbreaking career in fashion has rarely faltered. But for Naomi Campbell, no trip down memory lane would be complete without revisiting her now-iconic catwalk tumble during the Vivienne Westwood 1993 runway show in Paris.
So naturally the shoes responsible – a vertiginous pair of 12in platforms in blue mock croc leather – will have pride of place in the V&A’s forthcoming exhibition dedicated to her.
Opening this June, Naomi: In Fashion is the first tribute to a living model staged by the London museum and Naomi has played an integral role in getting it off the ground. The custom-made mannequin on which items of clothing will be displayed (above) was designed in collaboration with her, and she has been hands-on from the start, helping to select exhibits including 100 outfits she…
EWAN McGREGOR IS DADDY COOL AT NEW YORK PREMIERE
Playing a Russian aristocrat sentenced to house arrest in an upmarket hotel is “one of the roles of a lifetime”, says Ewan McGregor. And at the series premiere of TV’s A Gentleman in Moscow in New York, the star had no reservations about sharing the red carpet with some special guests.
Ewan, 52, was joined (left) by his wife – and co-star in the period drama – Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 39, and a very special supporting cast: his two daughters Clara, 28, and Jamyan, 22, (both right with Ewan and Mary Elizabeth) from his marriage to Eve Mavrakis.
The two eldest of Ewan’s four daughters looked delighted to be there. Actress Clara shared photos from the event on social media, together with a clip filmed at the afterparty to her Instagram Stories.
“We…
MOLLIE KING ON HER BIKE IN MEMORY OF DAD
As a former member of The Saturdays, Mollie King is no stranger to life on the road. Her latest booking, however, was less European tour, more Tour de France. Despite having “zero experience” on a road bike, the pop star turned radio presenter (right) signed up for a mammoth cycle ride from London to Hull, the home city of her late father.
Aiming to cover the 500km (310 miles) trip in just five days, Mollie, 36, set off from BBC Radio 1’s London headquarters – arriving in Hull on schedule and raising over £1m for Comic Relief in the process.
Before making the trip in memory of her father Stephen, who died in 2022 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, she said: “I’ve been so nervous. I can’t wait to get…
CROWN PRINCESS VICTORIA OF SWEDEN MAKES A NAME FOR HERSELF ON SPECIAL DAY
From National Day to Midsummer, the Swedish royal family are no strangers to traditional celebrations. But there is a date in the country’s calendar that is of special significance to Crown Princess Victoria – so much so that it has her name written all over it.
In a tradition dating back centuries, the Crown Princess, like every other Victoria in Sweden, celebrated her name day last week. But few of her namesakes will have marked the occasion by attending a military presentation. The royal was accompanied by her husband Crown Prince Daniel, 50, and their children Princess Estelle, 12, and Prince Oscar, eight (all left).
Wrapped up warmly in winter coats and gloves, the family watched a performance by the band of the Royal Guards (right) in the courtyard of Stockholm’s Royal…
